Funding for solar water heating

You may be eligible for funding to install a solar water heating system in your home. A well-designed and installed solar water heating system can provide up to 75% of your hot water every year, and pay for itself over time through lower power bills.

To be eligible you must:

  • choose a packaged system – that is, all the components including cylinder/tank, collector panel, pumps and controllers – from a participating supplier. You can find this list on the solar water heating website
  • buy and have your system installed by a approved installer. For contact details for the approved installers of the accredited suppliers, visit the Solar Industries Association website.

What’s on offer?

  • There are two options for funding
    a contribution of up to $1000 towards the cost a loan to pay for the system
  • a one-off payment of $1000 off the cost of installing a new system
