1. Measure energy use

You can collect information about energy use in your business. You will need to do this over a period of time to get an accurate picture of your business’s energy use – ideally two years.

Your power company may be able to help provide this information for you.

The first step is to look at your monthly energy bills and compile the relevant details from them.

You will then be able to judge the effects of any energy efficiency improvements made. This will also help you analyse the effects of taking cost-free efficiency actions.
